"Uh Oh Canada"

Oh Canada,
A Political Calamity,
Glen Clark soldiers on,
To the dismay of the NDP.

Gasoline hikes, threatened airline strikes,
Quebec nurses demand wage parity.
Nova Scotians strive,
to avoid a three-way tie,
And elect a Premier who can really lead.

Reformers urge Manning to resign,
Preferring the right to remain disunited for all time.
For the latest in political faux pas,
we rely on the CBC.
And if Double Exposure's gone,
well, there's still Rex Murphy.

History: This was my winning entry in a contest held by CBC Radio Calgary. The challenge: to write a song about the Canadian political scene to the tune of "Oh Canada." The contest was held in 1999 so the references are a bit dated  - think I should update it annually?
